PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES* This full time position will focus on accounting responsibilities for multiple businesses within US Agriculture, Food and Life, and will be based at the Brookings, SD location. In addition, this position will provide administrative support for the administration team, including finance, human resources and operations.REPORTING TO* Business ManagerSPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIESAccounts Receivable duties:* Prepare and process customer billing* Prepare month-end accounting reports, including accruals and journal entries* Process new customer credit applications and account setup* Process customer check and credit card payments* Answer customer queries and concerns related to billingAccounts Payable duties:* Process purchase requisitions and purchase orders, and assist in purchasing supplies and assets* Pay bills using the corporate Purchasing Card (P-card) system* Process new vendor information* Reconcile purchasing credit cards on a weekly basis* Prepare and submit weekly reports to corporate finance office* Prepare monthly sales and use tax report* Answer vendor queries and concerns related to billingAssist with Collections:* Maintain an acceptable level of outstanding receivables and DSO (Days Sales Outstanding).* Prepare and send customer statements and collections letters as needed* Work with customers to maintain minimal outstanding balancesGeneral duties:* Provide administrative support for the administration team, including finance, human resources and operations.* Prepare department reports, budgets, statistics and graphs as required* Prepare and assemble any other reports or information as required* Perform routine office functions including photocopying, faxing, scanning, and filing* Ensure quality and confidentiality of client and company information and take an active role in updating Quality System, especially in regard to best accounting practices* Assist in other areas of the company as needed* Promote responsibility, good work habits, a positive work environment and improve customer service* At all times, comply with Code of Integrity and Professional ConductPROFILE* Bachelorand#39;s Degree in Business, Accounting or related field preferred or at least 2 years experience in a related field* Capability to utilize a variety of different software programs required* Advanced experience in utilizing Excel spreadsheets requiredREQUIRED SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS* Strong administrative, analytical and problem solving skills needed* Excellent data entry, organizational and time management skills required* Must be detail oriented and have excellent verbal and written communication skills* Ability to handle a variety of projects effectively, efficiently and with confidentiality* Must be able to work independently and within a team environmentThis job description should not be construed as an exhaustive statement of duties, responsibilities or requirements, but a general description of the job.
