Dakota Provisions QA Special Projects Supervisor in Huron, South Dakota
This position requires an understanding of food science and food manufacturing principles. This position includes a wide range of activities related to monitoring employee performance, ensuring all work is completed within specified time frames, and to ensure high levels of customer service are provided at all times.Duties and Responsibilities:QA Special Projects Supervisor report to the FSQA Manager.Support the FSQA Manager with Foreign Material investigations Product disposition and corrective actions.Provide support to Quality Assurance, Production, RandD, Maintenance, Sanitation, Sales/Marketing and Supply Chain.Assists QA Management in the coordination, implentation, development, and supervision of QA programs sucha as HACCP/Food Safety, SQF, GMPs, Food Defense, Prerequisite and all Government Programs.Helps coach, mentor, train, empower and develop team members, drive continuous quality improvment processes.Supervises the production of consistent quality products through the development and enforcement of excellent manufacturing practices and procedures.Handling any disciplinary actions with QA Techs with assistance from QA Manager and HR Manager.Conducting periodic inspections throughout the plant for any issues that may arise that could affect the Quality and Safety of any food products produced or stored in the facility.Other duties as assigned.Qualifications, Skills and Abilities:Bachelors of Science in Food Science, Microbiology or any Bachelorand#39;s degree with QA/QC experience.ORAssociate of Science in Food Sciencem Science or Biology with 2-3 yearsand#39; previous experience in the food production industry.Knowledge of GMP, Food Safety, USDA and HACCP Requirements.Strong leadership, technical, organizational and communication skills are required as well as attention to detail.Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills or ability.Knowledge of statistical processes or ability to learn.Ability to be adaptable and flexible.Excellent recorde keeping/documentation skills.Must read, speak and write in the English language.This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing all day. Personnel must frequently lift/move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision,m periperal vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
