We are seeking a driven, talented, and experienced Manager/Senior Manager, Certification & Training to create, lead, manage, and deliver world class training and certifications programs in a rapidly evolving and expanding partner landscape for global delivery.

In this global role, with your passion for education and certification, you will design, develop, and build, multiple partner certification programs simultaneously and provide the leadership and strategy for a multi-level training program development in different modalities. You will work closely with GE Digital industry teams to develop compelling and relevant industry training and certifications that support the global ecosystem and channels go-to-market strategy.

The role requires an individual who is knowledgeable in adult learning, certification, and instructional design strategies for performance-based outcomes, can innovate, move quickly, and not be constrained by how things have been done before.

This position reports to the Senior Director, Global Partner Enablement and works across GE Digital with associated teams to create, manage, and coordinate industry training & certifications (globally) to our partners. This will include select duties as instructional designer, certification developer, project manager, and curriculum developer. Successful candidates must work cross-functionally with BU Industry, Product Management & Marketing, Education, Sales Enablement, and Services teams in the delivery of certification and training programs.

In this role, you will:

  • Define course requirements, identify learning objectives, assess learners, performance outcomes, and evaluative strategies to deliver training including consulting with education and industry program owners and subject matter experts to identify performance gaps and learning objectives.

  • Manage the development of instructional materials (tutorials, digital interactives, user guides, audio and video scripts, story boards, navigational text, tests, etc.) that transform technical information into professionally written, engaging instruction.

  • Facilitate curriculum and exam development workshops: Job Task Analysis, Content Development, Item Writing/Review, and Standard Settings

  • Manage exam item development, beta testing, psychometric validation, and general availability release

  • Setup & maintenance of the item banking tool, and implement an exam development workflow to assist in keeping the certification exams technically accurate and current

  • Manage multiple curriculum & exam development projects

  • Define, develop, and enforce certification program guidelines

  • Maintain a close working relationships with global education, technical, product, industry, and sales enablement teams

  • Work with vendors to ensure technical and statistical accuracy of GE’s partner certifications

  • Recruit and collaborate with internal and external subject matter experts

  • Quality checks and reviews that take place throughout each step of the exam development process

  • Exam development database permissions and accounts

  • Ensure proper tracking mechanisms are in place and functional (item version tracking, document control, etc.)

  • Manage the editorial review of items (i.e.; grammar, spelling, standardizing on technical terms throughout the exam, etc.)

  • Manage and implement exam maintenance schedules and recertification processes Qualifications/Requirements: Basic Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited university

  • 4 years’ experience developing technical and functional adult learning content and certifications

  • 3 years’ experience managing certification development and/or operations

  • 3 years’ experience with CRM, LMS and CMSEligibility Requirements

  • Must be willing to travel 25%

  • Must be willing to work in an office in San Ramon, CA or Open to Remote work Desired Characteristics:

  • Report on exam development metrics

  • Create and implement programs that align with ISO/ANSI 17024 and NCCA standards

  • Deep understanding of certification exam development life cycle: including exam creation, validation, evolution and retirement.

  • History of developing and deploying training in multiple formats (eg. Print media, electronic documents, web pages, audio or podcast, multimedia presentations and training modules, distance learning components and deliverables).

  • Demonstrated high standard for clear, concise communication (written and verbal)

  • Strong understanding of training technology and adult learning concepts

  • Classroom (physical and virtual) instructional skills are a strength

  • Superior verbal & written communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to take strategy and turn it into “learnable” modules.

  • Strong knowledge of the following core development tools: MS Word, MS PowerPoint, CSS and HTML, screen-casting software (Camtasia, etc.), e-learning software (Lectora, Articulate, Captivate, etc.).

  • Strong understanding and practical skills with of IS/IT systems (eg. Server & client OS, Databases & client tools, queries, web technologies)

  • Comfortable in a demanding, IT-intensive environment.

  • Existing portfolio of training content created and/or delivered

  • Experience serving global markets
