Wells Fargo Ab Initio Developer - Applications Systems Engineer 4 in Sioux Falls, South Dakota

The VMS (Volcker Metrics System) and FIRMs (Fund Investment Reporting and Monitoring system) are enterprise solutions that address the reporting and recordkeeping requirements outlined in the Volcker Rule as applicable to Wells Fargo & Company’s trading and investment activities.

The Enterprise Data & Analytics (EDA) organization is looking for candidates that will serve as an ETL Developer supporting the VMS and FIRMs applications. He/she will establish and maintain exceptional working relationships with the broader business, technology and application management communities to accomplish our goals. He/She will report to the Application Manager for VMS and FIRMs.

  • Provides design and development support for analytical systems and data integration applications.

  • Analyzes business requirements, designs and writes technical specifications to design or redesign computer solutions.

  • Designs, develops and tests application ETL code.

  • Leads and/or partners on migration of applications to production and tracks code merge and branching process for releases.

  • Participate or leads in design and code reviews and ensure application of best practices and standards.

  • Follow all software development lifecycle processes and standards.

  • Follow change and incident management processes.

  • Develops documentation and supports departmental technical procedures and user guides policies.

  • As an escalation point for application support and troubleshooting, provides guidance and direction to less experienced staff in resolution of escalated issues and/or complex production, application or system problems.

  • Assures quality, security and compliance requirements are met for supported area and oversees updating and testing of the business continuation plan.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of application development and implementation experience

  • 3+ years of Ab Initio experience

  • 3+ years of data warehouse experience

  • 1+ year of Teradata experience

Desired Qualifications:

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of technical leadership including large, visible, cross group projects across multiple technologies

  • 5+ years of database experience

  • 3+ years of UNIX experience

  • Ability to design, develop, and implement large scale/complex software applications

  • Knowledge and understanding of system requirements, software design, and Interface Control Documents

  • 1+ year of offshore application development process experience
