As a Management Assistant within the Earth Resources Observation and Science Center, some of your specific duties will include:
- Serves as training specialist and primary contact for training, learning management systems and procedures and resolve related questions and problems.
- Furnishes information to employees on employment issues such as health and life insurance programs and coverage, and government retirement systems, etc.
- Prepares a variety of personnel documents including requests for personnel actions.
- Plans and creates specialized reports to answer requests for information.
- Assists the management analyst in a wide range of workforce planning and personnel management activates.
- Provides administrative support and serves as primary point of contact for systems and procedures related to staff development, in and out processing and payroll.
- Occasional Travel
- Overnight travel of up to 2 nights per month may be required.

For GS-06: Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-6 level: One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-05 level in the Federal service. Example of GS-5 level work: reviewing new and existing clerical processes to determine conflicts; and monitoring and studying the progress of projects with different schedules and resources to identify missed deadlines or forecast resource availability
**OR applicants may substitute successful completion of 1/2 year of appropriate graduate level education (9 semester hours, 13.5 quarter hours or the equivalent) in a field of study directly related to the work of this position for the required one year of specialized experience. Graduate education may be credited only when it is clearly directly related to the work of this position and equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.

For GS-07: Applicants must meet one of the following to qualify for the GS-7 level: One year of specialized experience in or directly related to this position that equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position. To be creditable, the required specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-06 level in the Federal service. Examples of GS-6 level work: applying data gathering methods to collect various types of factual information; evaluating management or program operations to perform duties such as planning the steps to take to complete assignments.
**OR applicants may substitute successful completion of 1 year of appropriate graduate level education (18 semester hours, 27 quarter hours, or the equivalent) in a field of study directly related to the work of this position for the required one year of specialized experience. Graduate education may be credited only when it is clearly directly related to the work of this position and equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of this position.
**OR a combination of appropriate specialized experience (as described above) and graduate education (as described above) that is beyond the first 1/2 year of progressive graduate study to meet the qualification requirements.
