SUMMARY: The Quality Control Technician performs a variety of quality control tests/inspections on products, materials, components and parts at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability standards. This position will record and evaluate test data, applying statistical quality control procedures. The role also makes recommendations, based on the data, for optimum quality of the product. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated, problem solver who utilizes knowledge and understanding as well as a strong work ethic to ensure all specifications and quality are met.


  • Interface with internal customers and suppliers on a professional level.

  • Ensures timely and accurate, data, records, and calibrations

  • Work alongside employees driving safety, quality, cost and delivery

  • Maintain efficient, clean and safe work area

  • Inspects and evaluates the quality of products through the use of measurement tools and equipment, including primary use of CMM

  • Grinds excess weld, sharp corners, or sharp protrusions using a portable pneumatic grinder.

  • May rework and/or repair product in customer's establishment, utilizing production and process knowledge according to specifications.

  • Makes adjustments to equipment as necessary.

  • Interprets engineering drawings, schematic diagrams, or formulas and confers with management or engineering staff to determine quality and reliability standards.

  • Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.

  • Evaluates data and writes reports to validate or indicate deviations from existing standards.

  • Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality within limits of equipment capability.

  • Prepares graphs or charts of data or enters data into computer for analysis.

  • Other duties as assigned.


  • Working knowledge of CMM equipment and software including setup, troubleshoot and interpretation of results preferred

  • Able to interpret blueprints and specifications/Understanding and interpretation of GD&T

  • Strong knowledge of computer programs (MS Office, Front Page, CAD, Inspection/Statistical Software)

  • Strong problem solver

  • Able to work in a team atmosphere

  • Able to effectively present information and respond to questions

  • Strong communication, written and oral, including writing reports and correspondences

  • Must be able to comprehend and retain internal, regulatory requirements, instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form

  • Strong reasoning skills, including but not limited to, analyzing information, identifying problems, and developing alternative solutions

  • Must be able to stand for extended period of time and exert moderate to heavy physical effort with a minimum lifting requirement of 50 pounds

  • Must be willing to travel as needed via most efficient means

  • Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds


  • Associate's degree or equivalent from 2 year college or technical school; or at least 6 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Certified to ANSI/AWS D14.3 welding standard is preferred.

  • Technologist level of AMSE GD&T certification or above is preferred

  • Ability to operate a forklift and pallet jack, overhead crane
