Position Summary: Primary function is to improve the quality of products produced and shipped. This is done through executing quality processes, policies and procedures; supplier and customer claim investigation and corrective action; data collection, analysis, statistical process controls, auditing and reporting. Also may be responsible for timely and cost effective disposition of supplier and customer-rejected material.
Key Position Results (Examples: Accurate financial reporting, Timely issue resolution, etc.)
Timely resolution of intermediate vendor issues and claims through NCMR processess
Policy, procedure and regulatory compliance
Timely and accurate samples, data, records, calibrations, charts, graphs, analysis and basic reports
Timely resolution of receiving inspection activities
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Manage NCMR area, enter scrap, rework, rejection, claim and inspection data
Receiving inspection activities
Calibration and acquisiton of scales, gages, instruments and measuring equipment
Gather, investigate and exchange information with vendors or customers regarding quality requirements or dispute resolution (may require visits to vendor/customer facilities). Provides customer/vendor tours and explains company's capabilities
Conducts operator meetings, trains production staff and audits production inspectors or provides guidance to production employees. May assist in selection, evaluation and discipline.
Assists individuals and teams with practice and procedure development and changes
Other duties as assigned
Critical Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
Intermediate inspection/auditing skills (prescribed processes and procedures)
Intermediate math and statistics skills
Intermediate communication skills
Intermediate computer skills (MS Office, Oracle, 4th Shift, Calibration software)
Intermediate analysis and problem-solving skills
Prefer intermediate understanding of surface defects
Education / Training Required
Two years quality-related experience preferred
Associates degree in quality-related field preferred
Quality Technician certification preferred
Basic GD&T understanding preferred
Intermediate understanding of quality systems
